【摘要】:Thesetestmethodsprovideuniformproceduresfordeterminingthebulkdensityofinsitupeatandprocessedpeatproducts.Thebulkdensityisofuseinthecalculationofinsitustressesforengineeringanalysisandinquantifyingtheamountofmaterialpresentwhenconsideringpeatasaresource.Inthelattercase,itisnecessarytoconsiderthemoistureconditionforwhichthebulkdensitywasdetermined;amoreusefulparametertoconsidermaywellbethedrydensity,x03C1;d.1.1Thesetestmethodscoverthedeterminationofthebulkdensityofbothpeatinitsnaturalstateandpeatproducts(Note1).Thesetestmethodsconsistofdefiningavolumeofpeatanddeterminingthemassofthatspecificvolume.Thedifferenceintherespectivemethodsisintheproceduresemployedtodeterminethepeatvolume.Note18212;TestMethodD2978isusedforspecifyingthevolumerepresentedbyaquantityoflooseprocessedpeatorthevolumeofapeatbale.1.2MethodA8212;Thismethod,thecoremethod,coversthedeterminationofthebulkdensityofanundisturbedcoreofpeattakenwithapistonsamplerorothersuitablecoresampler(Sections6and7).1.3MethodB8212;Thismethod,theparaffinwaxmethod,coversthedeterminationofthebulkdensityofundisturbedclodsorirregularpiecesofwetpeatandcompressedpeatproducts(Sections8and9).1.4Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
